MONEY MATTERS

Money Matters

Asylum is a costly business and increasing in cost.
The asylum system is now costing the State €375 million per annum.

A homogenous society such as we have enjoyed is a cheaper society to run than a multicultural one. A multi-ethnic, multicultural society means extra cost to provide special services in health, education, social services etc.

It means extra cost for interpreters, language classes and supports for integration.
It means a costly "race-relations industry" as in Britain.
Social cohesion is not only desirable, it is less expensive. Social instability is not only undesirable; but it has a high monetary cost.

Did you know that your taxes are being spent to promote a soft asylum policy, to attack the government for not being even softer and even to promote a policy of absolutely no immigration control and no deportations under any circumstances!!!

The N.C.D.E. (The National Committee for Development Education) funded by the Irish Aid budget of the Department of Foreign Affairs gives out grants to groups of private individuals for "development education". Up to recently that meant what it says - educational material and educational projects about the "Third World".

In the last few years, however, because development groups tend to be pretty universally in favour of a soft asylum/immigration policy, these grants are now also being used to promote this line.

Are you happy that your money is being used to promote political views which may be directly opposite to yours? [Remember, this is not the promotion of government policy, whatever government it may be, but frequently an attack on government policy).

Now, another body - The National Consultative Committee on Racism and Interculturalism - is being funded by the Department of Justice to give grants to "combat racism and promote interculturalism". As with "development education", there is reason to fear that the same thing will happen here. [The committee’s website provides links to organisations which openly declare that they are opposed to any immigration control of any kind whatever!!! This hardly inspires confidence that this committee will do other than N.C.D.E.]
